I want to start buying more gold jewelry. I have passed on some deals in the past because I wasn't sure if it was real. Where is a good place to purchase an acid test kit.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Yes, do not attempt to try and buy with out the test kit, way too much bad stuff on the market. Stuff comes in all the time marked higher K than it is, heavily plated, etc.
Because there are so many places buying , your buying price will have to be stepped up a bit to compete (vs say 2 years ago) , and 1 bad sizeable piece will practically wipe out your profit margin.
There are many, many pitfalls in the buying gold business. I've been stung a few times and and probably only marginally ahead on the <$10k in scrap gold/silver (excluding coins/bullion of course) buys I've done. As a non-store front, you WILL be getting a good amount of "business" from people who have sold their gold to those places, and then try to pass off the rejects (plated/non-PM content) pieces on you.
I'd also stay far, far away from any kind of cutlery/flatware. Even if it is solid sterling, there are many components of the pieces (handles weighted, steel blades, etc) which aren't silver. Actual silver content can be as low as 20% of the total weight of the piece. Not even worth buying, IMO.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
