Today was one of the James Spence Authentication days at Beckett. As always, when he's down for public authentication days, I like to go hang out for a little while and talk hobby and get a few things done. Batted 1.000 once again. 3 for 3. I might be getting old, but my eye is still strong (just that they have glasses now, LOL)
First up was a Muhammad Ali glove that previously had been deemed OK by aliautos.com
Next up was the main item I wanted done. It's a mini size William Harridge OAL ball that has been beautifully single signed by former President and General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Hard to place a value on this one, as the last two regular sized Eisenhower signed baseballs I've seen sold at Heritage Auctions for between $8,000-$10,000 each. Mini balls typically don't sell as well as their full size counterparts, but Presidential signed baseball collectors, aren't usually too choosy when tough ones come up.
Finally, I had a nice Mantle authenticated, but it's too profane to post on this board. Cool piece though All in all, a fun day and a nice diversion from torts and criminal law.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

It amazes me that both of these companies proudly slab the 89 Fleer Ripken with the F bomb, and have been known to slab the C3PO happy to see you card, but yet stuff like this still happens. Heaven forbid if anyone has anything related to the dreaded S word in America. That's how everyone of us came to be in this world unless you are a test tube baby, or were a product of artificial insemination, or were the Son of God.
Oh well, rant off, all this studying is putting me on the edge
