Gallaher's sporting personalities complete set

I purchased this set a while back and I subbed the 3 boxing cards (yes....I dabble with boxing cards as well lol)
The cards in this set have grown on me of late and although they're not valuable, I find them interesting...especially the boxing and football (soccer) cards.
Thought I'd share....

Cool looking set, just needs some golfers in there.

Which two? None of the pics looked golfing related and I didn't recognize any of the usual suspects. I really only target Hagen/Cotton from that era, but have been picking up others when the price is right.

Sorry Larkin...I'm confusing it with my 35 gallahers champions set

Is that the one with two series of 48? If so, I've got #s 1, 30, 31 of the first series and #s 33 & 48 from the second. I'm not sure if there are any other golfers in those. I haven't been able to dig up much info about that set if you have any to share or can point me in the right direction.

I'd be curious to learn more about the artist(s).

Right...I have the 2nd set. In that one, there's 2 golfers - Allis and Tolley.

I've been talking with the card dealer in the UK about purchasing more sets. It's not a bad idea for me to ask for a couple of links to learn more about the history of the set. If I get any links I'll post them on the forum.

I'd be interested in upgrading my golfers if you pull the trigger on more sets, raw preferred or potentially buying complete sets as well. My Arliss is probably a 5-5.5, and Tolley a 7-8(ST). I'll try to get some scans up this weekend. The 1928 Churchman's Men of the Moment In Sport set is a really nice multisport set of the era also w/ a few boxing cards (including Jack Dempsey).
