Should I have these cards graded?

I am wondering I should send these in on the next group submission.

I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!
  • Definitely the one on right. Nice centering and corners look good.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the PSA 10 collector he didn't exist.

I've never known or asked...why are screw downs bad?

    Agreed.

The second year card on the left looks nice but the centering probably keeps you from anything higher then a 8. Sometimes for me it depends on sentimental value, I have sent some in to be graded knowing they wouldn't do well but since I had them since childhood I did it anyway.

If the holder is recessed I think it's fine. The flat one's are dangerous to the health of the card. Doug

I have read sometimes when taking the card out of the screw down, the cards surface sticks to the plastic causing damage. Now I am nervous taking it apart. haha

Bingo, I had a Dr. J rookie go from a probably 8 to 5 removing from a screw down holder that someone screwed to tight.

I have heard because when you screw them down, they flatten the corners.

I think most second year jordans should be graded!

The second year Fleer Jordans are way undervalued. I have a lot of them 3 or 4 and PSA 8's can be had cheap.

Yes, without a doubt this is a high probability. However, the ones you have are inset so I don't think you have anything to worry about other than dropping or damaging a corner after removing it from the holder.

Good luck. I would grade both of them. Really nice centering on the 86 sticker.

    Thanks,

One more card I am thinking selling it in. If anyone need 3 cards to reach their minimum, let me know! image
