pre-1980 unopened wax, cello, rack etc "porn"

Any one care to show off some pictures of their 1970s and earlier unopened sports card wax, cello, rack, boxes, cases, etc collection? I love looking at that stuff. When I have time, will locate mine and take some pictures, but if anyone has pictures handy, I never seem to get tired of looking at that stuff.

Anyone know exactly how many boxes/cases of the 1952 tops that Mr Mint actually bought with his big find in the 80s, ditto with the 1954/1955 Bowman find?

Any other recent large finds of unopened in the hobby? I recall some 1960 leaf wax boxes were found a while back. I was able to snag a few packs of those when they hit the market. They seemed to have dried up, but it does look like BBCE has a box for sale.

There's an awesome thread where MacrosB shows off his awesome unopened collection. I wish I bookmarked it. Does someone have a link to it?

for mr "rabbitpunch" the first letter is not an "I" its an "L". I wont get into the meaning of my user name, but the "econ" is short for economics.

If someone could post a link to the thread referenced by lahmejoon, that would be great.

Wow, that is awesome. Looks like a complete run from 1951, except maybe no 1953 bowman.

Is that a sportkings unopened pack and 1949 bowman unopened pack in the corner?

That is one heck of a collection. True unopened porn.

Just wished I had picked up some of the 1950s and 1960s packs back 15-20 years ago when they were somewhat more existent.

'33 Sportkings pack and '50 Bowman. Full run of Topps and Fleer packs thru '90.
Wish I had bought a few of the packs in Mr. Mints auction about 9 years ago- the software was crap and the prices were really low.

No big finds for quite a long time. I don't recall the Mr. Mint 1952 find being cases worth, but I could be wrong.

Here's a wax box run from 1971-81. Some OPC in there as well.

Maybe a bit older than most are used to, but how about some original cigarette packs, complete with their original cards:

Thanks Jon, was hoping you'd jump in to shut Reggie up. Not that that is even possible for long.

That's a great display and run. I do think that pre 1980s wax will always hold its value barring some huge warehouse finds. Many of those boxes are now over 40 years old and while they were certainly produced and preserved in significantly more quantity than 1960s and before, demand should always exceed supply.

I wonder how many collectors/hoarders/investors are sitting on "cases" of any of these years. For example, wonder what a legitimate estimate would be for uncracked 1976 topps wax cases out there would be? 30? 50? 100? You would think with the recent sharp price increases, these will come out of the "closets" soon and be offered in some of the big auctions more often. I hope so anyways so some of us can buy.
