Many of you here know I am an avid unopened collector, particularly for 1970s Topps and OPC baseball, and have been searching for a legit PSA graded 1971 jumbo cello for quite a while now. Fast forward to last Wednesday and I get a text from Mike while I'm on my way home from work telling me that Eric (thosebackpages), who had gone down early to the National, is at the BBCE booth and that Steve has two lonely PSA graded cello packs, both graded NM 7! Mike bought one, a series 4 pack, and wanted to know if I wanted to purchase the series 2 pack. Needless to say, I was thrilled to hear this news and quickly agreed to pick up the other pack. So I want to take this opportunity to truly thank both Mike and Eric, both of whom I am pleased to call friends as well as fellow collectors. And with this PSA 7 1971 cello pack, I finally conclude my 1970s Topps baseball cello pack registry set run! Here's the PSA 7 pack, which I picked up from Mike earlier this evening:

Those '71 cellos are so tough to find that I really didn't expect to hear that they were available. Congrats to finishing the cello pack run!!! Now if I could get you to break the habit of occasionally ripping some packs, lol.

Just curious, what's the difference between a jumbo and regular cello pack? I thought there was only one version in '71.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Nice pick-up Tim. It was nice of Mike and Eric to help out.

There's only one real version. I think the term jumbo started up to distinguish from the grocery cellos when people thought they were legit.

David is correct.
Thanks again, guys, for all the kind words, which are very much appreciated!
I thought I'd also share some scans of the packs besides the 71, too, in my set..

<< <i>Great run of cellos! Did you try to find packs with Mets showing when you could? >>
Yes, he did as you can usually get them for a discount.

Those are some great friends you have there.
Seriously, nice job Tim. As much as I love the 71, that 70 cello in a PSA 10 is quite nice.
