A Gorgeous 1937 Proof Merc Newp, Grade and TrueView Back From PCGS Today.

valente151valente151 Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭
Just got the grade and trueview on this coin tonight from PCGS.
Bought it in an old NGC holder and cracked it out.

Feel free to guess the new grade if you would like (I realize you can just look up the cert number, but what would be the point of "cheating" on something like this.)

The Trueview is spot on on the color. This is the second purchase for my proof merc dime set.

I'm getting tired of telling everyone how nice their coin is.
Only because there have been quite a few knockouts lately.
Your Merc jumps to the top of my list!
    Congrats on this gem!

That's a bingo! No hairlines and that beautiful tone and surface then PF66+ or 67 max.

That is a beauty of a Merc.

From the pics the coin looks a minimum 66 and another point doesn't seem out of reach.

Proof are almost impossible to grade from a photo as most imperfections are hidden. My guess is 66 with maybe a plus sign next to it image.

Very nice - I think the color helps it get a 66+.

Thanks for the comments. It went from Ngc 65 to pcgs 66. It's a coin though that when I bought it, was so pretty the grade of the coin didn't matter much.

Valente - as it should be... Buy the coin... Not the holder.

That's a beauty ... Thanks for showing it to me last night,

I usually don't like broken toning but that looks like a work of art image
