1983 Topps Tony Gwynn #482- 16,813 Total Graded, 271 PSA 10s, 1.61% of Total Graded
1983 O-Pee-Chee Tony Gwynn #143- 720 Total Graded, 15 PSA 10s, 2.08% of Total Graded
The percentage of PSA 10s are in the same order of magnitude, so results are very plausible. I prefer the O-Pee-Chee because of their cuts and scarcity compared to Topps. Does O-Pee-Chee typically have a greater market value than Topps? Unfortunately not, but I think the tide is starting to turn.
there needs to be some way to address what cards are "dimensionally challenged".
Tom is correct in his assessment, if you compare the Gwynn in question to another straight up properly sized and positioned example, there would be no comparison.
and the equivalent pricing would be just as ridiculous. which it is.
I used to own a very nice example of this card in a 10, but sold it. I've been watching for another one and was glad to see one listed.....until I took a closer look. That card is as fugly a diamond cut as I've seen in a 10. I wouldn't buy that in a 9 holder, but maybe diamond cuts bother me more than most. Very disappointing.
At least it doesn't say CENTERED in the title, lol..

You really believe a PSA 10 1983 OPC Tony Gwynn RC is a $10 card?

Its as bad a diamond cut as I have ever seen for a 10 and IMO should be in a 8 holder which makes it about a $10-12 card

<< <i>I'm not thrilled with the diamond cut either but to say this is a $10 card is absurd. >>
