If the OP has an issue with the seller then I think he should contact the seller directly first. Then, and only then, should he start a thread like this that can potentially do harm to the seller.
and my question to you would be: what the heck does this have to do with Rick?! it's an older flip. the graders chose to assign it that grade. it meets the criteria. sheesh.
hello, gentleman .... my comments on " CENTERED GATE " ...I agree that CENTERED should have not be used on the Clemente.... human error.... we are now averaging 18,000 monthly auctions and we do make mistakes from time to time...typos, etc.. all u have to do is email or call me and we will edit if we can or relist the item....not a problem.... come say hello at the national....I'm booths 956 and 958, bringing 10 staff and 4 vehicles...it should be fun... also, we are doing a T206 set break at the show...every card plus magie ( minus wagner doyle and plank only ) on average we relist 1-2 auctions daily due to consignor requests...
<< <i>ok guys, here you go. this one is worth a few laughs, so i had to link it. too good to pass up. and yes, it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Rick.
However, the listings are written by employees of Rick (their names appear on bottom of listing) and CENTERED is used quite often by them of late to describe graded cards. ==> no card gets CENTERED written on it unless it comes from me...this was my error, not a staff error....
<< <i>Asking and getting are two different things. I am sure the consignor told him to list those at those crazy BUY prices! >>
Yup. That has to be what the consignor asked for. I believe the default for both Probstein and PWCC is .99 starting bid auction unless you tell them otherwise.

all these $2000 listings are make an offer...we sold around 15 cards so far as people made made vcp type offers and we accepted... all these cards are being auctioned this week with no reserve, we were just loading inventory into the system happy holidays
I saw some PSA 9 1975 minis listed at 2K also. I'm used to seeing inflated BIN prices with the BO option, but these break new ground, LOL..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I could see they were best offers...was just curious why the original price was so ridiculous...but hey, as someone said above...its all about eyeballs catching the listing. Mission accomplished for sure!
Speaking of curious, short of having actual knowledge that the box currently listed on a Probstein auction is from a well centered case and the ones currently listed on BBCE are from a off centered case....
Why is the eBay auction bid about $400 higher on the 1975 mini wax box than the ones currently for sale on BBCE's website?

I would say it's because more people search eBay for these boxes than BBCE..

Except the auction title and description state they are from and sealed by BBCE. Or are multiple people really that braindead that they know what BBCE is but don't check the website?

I don't know if I would say brain dead, certain people don't know every buying resource available and eBay is a much larger marketplace than the BBCE website. There are almost 500 views for this listing during the 7 days it has been listed, I doubt the 1975 box on the BBCE website has a tenth of that during that time span.

For what its worth, when I see an auction with a ridiculous BIN, it turns me off from even making a offer. I figure my offer would be so low compared to your BIN it would just get denied. I understand why you did it but I think it was a bad move. Just my 2 cents.

+1. Asking $2,000 for a $15 card, I would feel the exact same way as well.

+1 on all of this...that was kind of my point when I made the initial post the other day...
Yet the message I got is that these types of cards start at $0.99 without exception. I wonder what was so special about these cards? I've thought about consigning but I see too many $8 to $10 cards selling for at or near the $0.99 minimum.

On this card CENTERED should not have been used.

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing..."
The error was that the price was about $1950 too high. Sorry dudes.
