My step dad passed away a few years ago and as I was going through my stuff I found a box of Cubs scorecards. I happened to open one up and found this nice little find...

That's my name so that baby is calling to me! Very cool.
Nice find!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>Thanks all...I will protect the crease. It didn't use to be there. No matter, as I will never sell it. >>
I think he was referring to the OP..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

The scorecard itself was filled out, poorly, by a child, quite possibly my step dad. Is it worth getting it authenticated or do I just put it in a sleeve?
<< <i>The hotel card is real, I do not believe the advertisement is genuine. >>
I suggest you toss your application to work for PSA/DNA!
LMAO....The advertisement is addressed to me. I was 13 or so at the time. The advertisement is as real as you can get. Unless he was a doppleganger. I guess that is a possibility. Someone who looked like him, acted like him....but was totally not him.
I just put it up because I wanted people to see the changes in signature over time. The most obvious in the two being the letter "B" in the best wishes. The two pieces are identical in what he signed, the only difference being the name of the receiver.
<< <i>That's a nice vintage Musial signature. Unless you like throwing money away, I would not bother with sending it in. It's good, but Musial is so common you won't ever get your authentication money out of it if you ever decide to sell. >>
That is why I love this board, you can gain some good knowledgable info really quickly.

<< <i>Interesting to see the Mantle advertisement, but there's just something sad about seeing who he is sponsoring and then thinking about his cause of death. Wish Mick had just a few less Natty's throughout his life... >>
I am in total agreement with you. It is a little sad that he is promoting what eventually killed him. Part of the reason I am a teatotaller.
I've got to say though, every time I look at it, I think he signed it "Mickers Mantle", because of the short tail on the y

<< <i>Congrats on the Slabbed "9". A real nice piece. >>
Agreed it could be one of the PSA adds on why to have it graded.
