<< <i>Boise State at Home. Boise State on a neutral field. >>

Yeah, technically the Georgia Dome is a neutral field but c'mon. And Boise State still won by 14. So now that Boise State has played Georgia in Athens (an admittedly one-sided loss during a down year for Boise State in 2005 in their last year before Chris Petersen) and beat Georgia on a neutral field, do you think we'll see Georgia return the favor with a trip up to Boise? Somehow I doubt it.

Still, that said, Georgia at least puts some effort into their OOC and occasionally travels. >>

Georgia has to schedule tougher opponents since their SEC brothers always seem to get the lion's share of the publicity. Until the BCS actually puts some effort into a real committee of football followers that doesn't involve folks with a vested interest in particular teams (i.e. active AD's), the entire thing is fraudulent.

  • << <i>But if you think Clemson, Arizona State, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, and OK State are all patsies, then I guess you're onto something. >>

ACC, Pac-12, Big 10. . . That's the whole point of the original article.

We all know those Conferences are far stronger than the other ones. Yet they still do everything they can to make sure no schools from outside could ever reach national success no matter what

Nebraska is obviously a tough out of conference opponent, but how in the world does that do anything to give the lower conferences any sort of chance? When will any of them schedule a home-and-home with Boise, BYU, NIU or any other team outside of an AQ Conference?

Of course they won't, especially when you have national media partners like ESPN who won't ever touch that subject, and ridicule them for not scheduling tough out of conference opponents. Until the Boise States of the world are given their proper place, there's simply no reward for the power 5 schools to schedule them. Now, if we could get an impartial and encompassing committee to rank teams, then you might have real change. However, the schools in power are doing everything they possibly can to only have to compete within the 5 conferences, instead of having to compete within all 10. Just like MLB big market teams who buy off small market ones with revenue sharing, the big 5 are effectively shutting out half the schools.

  • I don't see what the big deal is with the AD's being on the committee. If I've learned anything from politics; if you put someone in a position of power with an opportunity to benefit from using that power they definitely won't abuse it.

Michael, don't waste your time. Some people have their minds made up of "the facts" no matter what evidence is presented to them. Same goes with politics and religion. It is a pointless thing to argue.

1985fan's premise that the SEC has weak OOC schedules was debunked simply by looking at Georgia, LSU, and Florida's 2013 schedule and recent history. There was no need to go any further. Notice how 1985fan ignored all of the facts presented and instead chose to rant about other items instead. That's called Changing The Subject. Classic response from someone on the wrong end of a debate.

Right, because three teams out of the whole conference makes your argument. That must have been some lunch, you never came back!

If you want to continue the conversation, then argue against the comments posted about Florida, LSU, and Georgia. If I felt like I needed more evidence than that, I'd have added it by now. But you haven't even responded to those schedules yet. Remember......you're the idiot on an island who claimed that SEC schools have a weak Out of Conference Schedule. So go proove your point. You're losing badly.

  • I dont fault teams for easy ooc schedules. They are made up years in advance.

I already did, by posting THREE YEARS' worth of scheduling. You picked three teams' schedule for one year. The fact of the matter is you got so heated because the proof I gave was so overwhelming you had no avenue but to start cursing and when someone resorts to that, they've lost the debate.

Good try though, but it's curious and interesting why some random guy would feel he has such a vested interest in how a conference is viewed.

Vested interest? Not really. Regardless of the topic of conversation, I just always have hope that everyone has the ability to use common sense and facts to arrive at a logical conclusion. But some retards like you are just incapable of doing that, despite evidence staring right at them. Continue to ignore the facts, 1985man.

Common sense, facts, and logical conclusions don't involve shouting matches, profanity, and the utter inability to look at more than a couple of carefully selected schedules trying to back up your erroneous claim. I posted three entire years' worth of schedules, and it's apparent to anyone without a blindingly (and frankly curious) devotion to something as silly as a football conference can see as FACT.

I'm done with this debate. I hope the SEC commissioner gives you a cookie for being so slavishly devoted to his conference.

I know you're done with it. The debate was over before you even started your nonsensical posts. The only person on this thread that thinks the SEC has a weak Out of Conference Schedule is YOU. You'd have as much luck trying to argue that 2+2=5 and you'd still think you were right.
