If you look at the bid activity on all of his 1961 Topps listings it's the same bidders.. but those bidders don't pop up again with any of the non 1961 Topps listings I checked out.... Is it possible someone consigned the 61's to him and is now shilling the auction?
SOMEBODY is playing around with this auction. It's a $75.00 card in this condition IF IT WERE SLABBED!
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

I would say "BINGO"!!!
I've bought from Greg many times....he literally sells thousands of different cards every week. I'm sure this isn't his first consignee pulling this but for the most part his auctions are legit and he's a very stand-up guy. I'll buy from him in the future I'm sure......just maybe not any 61's.
BTW, I was watching some of these 61's and I thought something was up earlier in the week. There seemed to be a lot of bidding action happening with cards that were still 3-4 days from ending.
Interesting... All the 1961 listings he had up are now gone. Maybe someone let him know what was going on and he did the right thing and pulled the listings.
I have purchased a number of great cards from this EBAY seller in the past.
It was wild when he auctioned off his last set of Wrestling All Stars. Many of the cards sold for numbers that were eye popping for cards from the sets.
For example a Pat Patterson went for $56, a Dusty Rhodes went for $201 and an Andre The Giant in EX-MT stated condition went for $525. All cards appeared to be paid for.
As I mentioned before in a previous thread here everyone raved about Greg and his spot on grading of raw cards. I also have purchased from him and had no issues. I really think this was a case of a consignor shilling the auctions and when Greg found out he pulled the rest of the listings for the 61's.

first of all, this assumption is flawed. i don't believe the auctions were pulled, they were all completed.
you won't be able to view the results until sometime tomorrow. eBay has changed that playing field, too.
i examined the '61 set auctions earlier today and was quite surprised at the nature of some of the bidding, however, it would not surprise me one bit if a few deep-pocketed bidders were simply going to battle over cards they wanted real bad and didn't mind paying the price to win.
it's not the first or last time this has happened. put away the pitchforks. if the seller gets paid and the winners receive their cards without interference, then there's no reason to speculate about foul play.
I didn't realize that all the 61 listings were ending tonight, my bad. No pitchforks here, like I said I have had nothing but positive dealings with him.

I made some purchase from him in the past, although they were lower priced cards...
Seems like a lot of people were happy with dealing with him in the past, but yeah that Maris bid activity is sketchy!

My take is there hasn't been a sincere bid since the $20's.
He should really looking into consignments.

In my experience his grading was spot on.
