New Guy

Hey guys, I'm new here but have been browsing the site for awhile... Huge Yankees fan, from Maryland. I collect vintage Orioles and Yankees. I Inherited some nice cards from an uncle who was an antique dealer. Joined PSA in order to sub and sell these weird 1962 Mars Attacks cards. Decided to redirect that into sports cards. When I first started I was all over the place, collecting new and shiny and vintage, all three sports. Sad to say I lost a lot of my initial investment making dumb moves on ebay... Now I'm cracking cases and filling a binder full of baseball HOFers with no intention to resell. Well thats my story, Nice to meet ya!
A really big fan of Dan Aykroyd

Seems like you have the right idea. It's always best to stay focused and collect what you like and not what will "make you money"

    Welcome to the board.

There is someone else around here that collects the Mars Attacks cards. I guess it is more popular than I thought.

    Looking forward to your posts.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    Welcome aboard.

Worry not as there are plenty of raw card collectors on here and, if avatars are any indication, plenty of Yankees and Orioles fans!

Which isn't the same as a Yankee/Orioles fans, of course, because that's just an abomination to the Sporting Gods.

However, we were mortals will overlook it if we can crash at your place the next time the National is in Baltimore. image

  • lol...I'm also a huge Cowboys/Redskin fan! I have a huge family split down the middle with the yanks and O's, I happened to pick the dark side due to my overbearing grandfather. And Mike, I almost threw those Mars cards away when we were cleaning out my great uncles store. Then I did some research and saw the huge market for these nonsports cards... crazy

Who do you cheer for when the Redskins play the Cowboys twice a year?

I am not sure I have ever even heard of a Cowboys/ Redskins fan. That sounds very difficult.
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

He probably cheers for the home team during the season, and then flips a coin if there is a playoff game.
Of course Eli and the G-Men will be doing their best to prevent either of these two teams from seeing any

Pain will be inflicted on all three teams. imageimage
  • Hahaha, the Redskins-cowboys comment was a joke in response to elsnorto's "abomination to the sporting gods"... Hail to the Redskins!

And just to clarify I am a Yankee fan from Maryland, I enjoy the rivalry soo much that it has really become the driving force behind my collecting...

Just yesterday I was showing my father some 62 topps baseball I picked up and he could remember having the mantle/Mays managers dream card.... he's actually an O's fan so I gave him a nice psa7 Brooks from the set. Nice moment

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome folks!
