You whine that the past is brought up on you all the time and now you look for getting some attention. Good for you, Bobby. Enjoy.

Thank you. I will treasure it always. 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan rookie card. I love it.

You paid $168.34 for an SGC Authentic Milton Bradley mislabeled by SGC as a Topps. The last PSA 4 of a Milton Bradley sold for $250 in April. Assuming you don't collect anything of the sort, and picked the card up only for your usual flip, I don't think the profit from this sale will be pulling you from dire straits.

Meh. I enjoy taking subtle shots at the OP as much as most guys, but I don't think it's called for in this thread. Assuming Bobby is just showing off a correctly labeled card and is indeed glad to have it in his collection, then I don't see the need for piling on. Rest assured, there will be other opportunities.

Like I said earlier, nice card. I wish mine was as nice.
  • Way to get one over on a seller who knows about the same as what you knew about the card before you were taken out behind the woodshed publicly. Hopefully that sweet profit will make it all worthwhile.

Your lack of shame and neediness of any kind of attention displays the same level of class as an E! Entertainment Reality TV Series.

Not properly labeled, but nice card anyway.

Just wondering, why do you collect authenticated no-grade cards?

<< <i>Just wondering, why do you collect authenticated no-grade cards? >>

It allows you to get a nicer card for a fraction of the price. You can have a NM/MT card that people shy away from because of the "A" stigma associated with it. Kinda like "The Scarlet Letter" so to speak. Keeping it in my personal collection - and I rather enjoy the SGC mislabeling. It teaches me not to take the PSA board, 3rd party grading, or anything else associated with this hobby too seriously. Thank everyone for all their kind words!
  • Is that not a Milton Bradley Board Games version? Heck of a card for a Authentic grade though, if it would grade much higher than a A, to your own point, why wouldn't you want it in a numerical holder since you already own it.

Well...I haven't really analyzed the card front and back with a loupe, but I am assuming that there is an issue with the card, which is why it is in the "A" holder. Doesn't matter to me, since I am collecting "A" cards. Shoot, I even thought about getting some cards with weak corners, trimming the card on purpose to make it look nm/mt, and getting it in an "A" holder for my collection. I haven't done it yet, but it would fit right in with my collection.

Oh, I thought you requested the A to fit your collection. Thx

No. I bought it already graded. SGC will grade cards "A" if there is a problem with them if you request it. PSA usually will not unless it is a "high demand" card. They would not slab my Aaron rookie although SGC did.

I honestly do my best to stay out of the Drama threads just so I don't say something stupid, but I really had to jump in on this one. I couldn't help but laugh when I read this. After seeing Bobbyw8469 get "trolled" something awful in the original thread this is referring to, I have to stand up and clap for him. image He has come back with a great troll of his own and some of you bit... hook, line, and sinker. Congrats Bobbyw8469 for this one.

How do you guys know it's a Milton Bradley and not topps?
  • Make sure when you go to flip it, you set your accidental shill just a touch higher. You don't wanna be leaving money on the table like last time.

Sorry Mr. Kneel Down!! Stormtrooper gave me this card! I am keeping it FOREVER!!!!!! I can get sooooo much mileage from the vermin off this board, I would be a fool to get rid of it! My ultimate "make the trolls/alts look like a fool" card! LOL...do you need to the post it again for you ????? I love it - I dont mind posting it......you can look at it and enjoy!

Why did you bump this thread, Bobby? You complain when posters give you grief, sometimes justified and sometimes not; however, I don't see how this is anything but instigating.

I did it because the trolls/alts need/deserve it!! I had a perfectly normal thread yesterday - trying to do some members a favor by alerting them of a FREE Franco Harris Meet & Greet that they might not have been aware of. Out come the trolls to attack me in that thread! What was the point in that?? So I figured, what the hey - bump THIS thread up too! This is my vindication thread! It puts the trolls/alts back in their place, where the sorely need to stay. I mean come on, how many times can one get kicked off the message boards!?!?!?!

How does the pictured Ryan vindicate you? You claimed and argued that a card was a MB when it wasn't. You sent the card back to PSA and they relabeled it as Topps instead of MB meaning you were wrong and those with a better understanding of what constituted a MB Ryan were right. It can be annoying when people repeatedly bring up your mistakes to get a rise from you but it is not like you didn't make them.

You can't see how a mislabeled SGC card vindicates me?? Hello??

  • << <i>You can't see how a mislabeled SGC card vindicates me?? Hello?? >>

It doesn't. And it shows that you still don't understand the original MB discussion.
  • BrickBrick Posts: 4,995 ✭✭✭✭✭
I generally stay out of these personality conflicts however this time I notice who is wrongfully accused of being a screw up and no one has come to their defense. The card in question is called a "mislabeled SGC". I don't think so. I read the SGC board about once a week to catch up on the three or four posts I've not seen yet and realize SGC does not make mistakes. Only PSA is capable of such errors.

LOL....Funny post Ralph. Yep...the SGC card is really a Topps. Yellow backs, orange backs, presence of white lines, absence of white lines. Just goes to show that no one really knows what the hell a Milton Bradley card really is!!

Thank heavens the SGC card didn't have any sticker residue that I couldn't remove!! Heaven forbid I try to put up a post to help people!

Apparently you do not understand the concept of vindication.

Your chance at "vindication" was when you sent the original 7MC Ryan RC back to PSA for re-holdering. You claimed that the card was a MB Ryan RC and based that claim on your extensive knowledge of MB cards. Others claimed the Ryan RC was in fact a mislabeled Topps Ryan RC and provided quite a bit of evidence to back up their claim. PSA disagreed with your assertion that it was a MB Ryan RC, meaning you were utterly and completely wrong.

Showing that MB cards are difficult to distinguish from their Topps counterparts simply points out your own lack of knowledge regarding the issue.

the above supports the notion of animal abuse, however self-inflicted, and is clearly a violation of forum protocol.

Maurice should be banned for a week and locked in a windowless 4 x 4 enclosure with an unchanged litter box.

Just like cable news. The information is presented as fact and despite the fact that it may not be correct, it is never wrong.

Wonder if he'd butt heads with himself if you placed a mirror in front of him instead of a monitor...

  • I think we can all agree that the pic of a small goat or large cat ramming his head into a mirror clearly vindicates me. Case closed.
