I remember when that game resumed, they had a different umpiring crew than the original. So Martin had his pitcher appeal to all the bases, on the assumption they had it on good word Brett didn't touch one of them. They got as far as second, when the umpires called Martin out and showed him an affidavit from the original crew that Brett indeed touched all the bases.

<< <i>Think it says something about Brett not holding any issues with the Bat boy. >>
Thanks for sharing. Great story.

<< <i>To me, George Brett is not the hemmoroids guy, nor is he the pine-tar guy. He's the Las Vegas, shrimp buffet guy.
Oh crap.

HAHAHA! I was thinking the same thing!! "I'm good about twice a year for that"
<< <i>Here's the video of the entire game, the incident happens at about the 2:13:00 mark. What an awesome story!
you gotta love the way they bring Gossage into the game --- see the 2:10:30ish mark
I still say Brett should have been ruled out - and left that way. The rule was 18", period. It was BS that the umpires got overturned there. I get that the pine tar didn't help in any way but that doesn't matter, IMHO.
I also think it's BS that Brett wasn't suspended for his ridiculous reaction.
Cool story and great video though.

I was thinking how great that story was about the bat boy, and then got to your post and just about fell out of my chair!!!
