Why are the 5oz pucks at $179.95? With silver way under $20 is this not a bit high? What are
the silver pricing rules?

thanks,
bob

The silver pricing rules go something like this...

    1) Profit, profit, profit

    2) Whatever sells the best/most... has the highest profit margin.

    3) Whatever sells the worst/least... has the smaller profit margin.

    4) Everything has a profit margin, even the things on "Sale".

    5) When rules can not be applied, refer to rule 1.

This may shed some light on your question. The average weekly prices of gold and platinum are calculated based on the London Fix prices from the prior Thursday AM to the current Wednesday AM. The average prices are taken to a grid with price ranges indicated at $50 intervals with corresponding prices provided for each numismatic product. In general, when the average price of the given metal moves into a higher or lower interval, product prices are adjusted accordingly. A secondary criteria specifies that the Wednesday PM price must agree directionally with any potential change. When applicable, price changes have been implemented on mid-morning Wednesday.

Perhaps...however, 5 oz ATB sales are way up. It's obvious not every one agrees with you. image

Are you in the market for metal, or are you in the market for novelties produced for collectors?

Just plain ole pieces of metal doesn't come in Uncirculated condition Fancy Design, in a Limited Edition with velvet box, plastic capsule, plus Genuine Certificate of Authenticity, for all those you pay if you want them, a "premium"

Nevertheless, the price for the Pucks is being reduced to 154.95, effective July 11th, as announced Here Other silver product prices also reduced.

Please refer to pricing rule number 2 below.

    1) Profit, profit, profit

    2) Whatever sells the best/most... has the highest profit margin. (And by profit margin I mean the mint's profit, not your resale profit)

    3) Whatever sells the worst/least... has the smaller profit margin.

    4) Everything has a profit margin, even the things on "Sale".

    5) When rules can not be applied, refer to rule 1.

That's one of the reasons I only purchase the bullion version & not the Mints at less than $3 over spot per oz.
