Edited to add: What an awesome thing for Harper to have done. As others have said, he's only a kid himself.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
+ 1 for Bryce, more then the money and fame you make as a pro.. that has to be the best part of your life being
able to make someones life better by just spending some time.
I bet if you ask Bryce Harper, he will tell you he got more out of meeting Gavin than the other way around. Helps put things in perspective.
But I have promises to keep,

<< <i>Matt ... thanks for sharing. That was a hard article for me to read. As a dad whose youngest daughter was three years old when she was diagnosed with Cancer and having to watch her go thru nine hundred days in a row of Chemo, I have some idea of what his parents are going thru. But I am one of the lucky ones, as she is now a healthy and beautiful 14 year old girl. I had tears in my eyes when I read this quote from his father: "When we had to tell Gavin there were no more options, he's going to die, that was hard." MAN, I can't even imagine having to say that to my daughter.

Jeezus Doug. So sorry you had to experience that. I'm glad she's doing well. Best to all of you.
I was shocked to hear he past so quickly since he threw out that pitch.
I am just sick at the thought of what his family is going through.
God bless us all with children that we never go through this.
and if you do have a sick child may they make a miraculous recovery.

Awful news. Makes me sick to think if one of my children got really sick. May he rest in peace...
