That's a terrific book. I picked that up several years ago for a great price. There is also a football equivalent and one even exists for Bowman. I saw it in a local library 10 years ago or so and have never seen a copy for sale. I want to say there were other cards in it besides the 48-55 Bowman sets, too.
  • This book is much more difficult to find than the 51-86 tome.

  • I love this book! I used to have this and the Football Card book when I was a kid.. Don't know what happened to them. I'll have to look into getting these.

I have the 51-86 variety. It's fun to flip from time to time.

Very cool! I have the San Francisco Giants version of every Giants card from '51 to '85 or '86. I need to find that!

Surf books! I have a Dodgers book ratholed somewhere. I haven't thought about that thing in ages.

Topps also made a Football card version of the same book. Its a little harder to locate than the baseball book.

  • If I recall, several of the cards pictured are the error versions (even those not acknowledged by the guides). 1978 Topps Bump Wills #23 for example, I'm fairly certain it shows the big black circle on front. Always found that interesting.

Great book. That is the last version. They printed one each year starting around 1985. There are also small paperbacks for team set collectors.

What a gyp, I was expecting to see a complete run of sets. Instead, all you have is this lousy book. image
