ebay....the good and the bad

About ten years ago I would buy raw cards on ebay all the time and rarely had a problem. Sellers would describe cards with any flaws rather accurately. I had to stop due to renal failure, thankfully ending in a transplant. I started buying cards again this year and have found a drastic change both in people and ebay rules. I've purchased about 300 card off ebay and for the most part been disappointed. It seems sellers, "dealers" as well, hide problems just hoping you'll keep the card. About 20% of the cards i purchased are creased, wrinkled, stained, or trimmed when they say "no creases" or I even email them! I've successfully returned 30% and very few returned original shipping. I've recently missed a '58 Aaron AS, '63 Aaron & Banks and sent them to PSA and came back trimmed, so I'm out that. I've recently sent a few suspect cards to PSA to meet the 50 card minimum.

The feedback system is terrible now! The first couple times I left only a neutral, the seller wanted it changed for returning the purchase price. A couple even gave threatening emails. I guess this is why everyone has a 99.5+ rating! The old days, when a seller defrauds a person, a negative would stick. People get away with saying anything and ebay just sits back and collects fees.

These are a few of the reasons I keep sifting through the trash! Lets see some other ebay scores (no more bad stories please).
