I am not sure if I would call him a true consignor, as it sounds similar to another seller that would find items all over the web and upcharge ~10-20% without the true owner's knowledge.
Yes it is the same guy. He is given the cards to broker by owners. Website notwithstanding, I've actually met him and he found a tough card for me at a great price.
Those are some HORRIBLE scans and pictures for $40K + items. IF I had cards of that magnitude to sell I'd be sending them to Brent or Rick to work their magic.

I was just thinking the same thing. Check out This Mantle Card ... he is asking $44,500.00. Only TWO pictures ... taken with a camera ... and they are not even clear!!! Are you kidding me?

That's Jason, he used to work for Memory Lane. I've purchased a few things from him. He was successfully able to create an account at Net54 and get banned after just one post for spamming his GeoCities-esque site.
<< <i>pretty sure this is all happening because they recently capped commission at $250. Very savvy. >>
Very savvy if you can actually sell one of those high end items.
His prices are not in the ballpark of reality. I've tried negotiating with him on one card and offered him a sizable premium above the highest recorded transaction to date. No dice.
All the more power to him if he can get those prices. But for starters he really needs to rethink his photo and content strategy. Cell phone pics of a 45K card ain't going to cut it.
