    I do wonder if having 90% silver coinage in everyday circulation wasn't such a bad idea. Maybe a pocket piece ASE?

    I know if u drink enough alcohol, it can kill off bacteria too. However, it would need to be about a .6 to be effective so you'd die from alcohol poisoning long before it worked.

    I think that the tradition of putting coins in fountains is related to this - silver coins actually did help clean the water.

    It is interesting chemistry too. Silver-sulfur bonding is usually called 'toning' around these parts.
