FS: High-end PSA 5 '54 Topps H. Aaron RC

Nicely-centered, high-end PSA 5 '54 Aaron rookie. I bought this card here on the boards years ago, and I'm only selling it now because I was able to grab a 6 (also on these boards). Price is $900 firm (by check or money order) or $930 by Pay Pal. Prices include USPS Priority insured shipping. PM if interested. Thanks.

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Last time I checked, chipping was ok for a PSA 5. Why the unnecessary commentary?

I think the reasons not to bash a seller's item(s) are obvious. And I'll leave it at that.

Get a clue. The OP is trying to sell a card. He doesn't need trolls posting negative comments on the card.
In short, if you can't say something positive about the man's card, then STFU!

So sellers are only allowed to sell cards with only positive things said about a card, while
there are obvious flaws to a card ? Sounds rather selfish and immature to me, but to each their own.

  • first of all, it wasnt a bash on anything, it was a 'oh no, nice card too bad for that chipping'....i like the card

second, troll???? Ive been buying stuff on here for the 2 months ive been on these boards, im hardly trolling

third, agreed...is it only allowed to praise and not question?? even if I wasn't even questioning??? whats the diffrence IF someone questioned a item then questioning it from an ebay seller???

They would have the option of posting the question to their auction...or not

The seller has maybe the best eye of anyone on these boards for fine quality.

That is a very strong 5 for sure.

  • I don't get the hate for someone pointing out the chipping flaw. The seller should've disclosed it.

I didn't take the "back chipping" comment as unnecessary or bashing. He stated the colors were really popping. Was that also unnecessary? He has probably dealt with that chipping firsthand before. And, its not like he pointed out some hidden flaw. Don't be so sensitive. It is a great looking, well centered PSA 5. Good luck.

A large, hi-res scan isn't disclosure enough? Open your eyes.

FWIW-I did not see anything wrong with the comment.

FWIW, I've seen PSA 8's with similar backs... I'll take Andy's eye over most anyone else -- even mine. I could buy from him sight unseen and KNOW I was getting a super high end example with stellar centering. I wish others were as discerning and were willing to pay for quality rather than just buy the flip at a bargain!

A comment wasn't necessary, true. The chipping could be seen by any potential buyer. Of course it wasn't necessary that the OP stated the card was a "nice, high end" PSA5. I think any potential buyer could have seen this too. I don't think anyone posts pictures on these Boards without anticipating comments. Learn to take the good with the bad.

Isn't chipping paper loss, but permissible because it occurred at the factory?
  • SOLD

Looks like you got really close to what you were asking for. Based on VCP averages, your card did extremely well. Congrats~
