Which GEM MT 10 Wayne Gretzky O-Pee-Chee rookie would you send to PWCC ?

image So a little play on words, but seriously, I don't think I'm going to keep both. Which one would you send to Brent, or which one would you keep, and why ?

I'm leaning towards the one on the right, because I like the darker sig, but the one on the left has better centering.

Sell left. It's always great when the drop of oil in the team logo is centered right within the team logo. I'd keep that one.
  • I also like the location of the autograph better on the right one.

Why not try to get the price you want for it here first?

I'd keep the one on the left. Just a better card with a nicer auto in blue which goes good with the border.

With the top left corner and print imperfection on right border on the card on the right, I would sell that one.

You should get more money for the one on the left, but that's the one I would keep in my collection.

First off both very nice cards.

I dont think you will get a much different return from one to the next, so I would keep the one I liked more for whatever reason (registration, signature placement, maybe how you got the auto, price paid ect)

I voted wrong. The wording is confusing. I meant to vote for the one on the right.

Were it me, I would keep the one on the right as well.

The only things the one on the left appears stronger on is color, corners, and slightly better centering.

The one on the left... better registration, borders, logo centering, and above all... I like the signature much more (black ink and finer marker).

Good luck with the sale regardless of which you decide to part with.

  • keep the left, rough cut should be on left side for this card....and the left one has it there

  • I'd keep both, but if I had to sell one, I'd sell the blue sig one.
  • I'm a sucker for OPC rough cuts, but the black signature is much nicer. Keep the one on the right.
  • Sell both and then look for one you really like. Your not in love with either or you would not ask about it.

Thanks for all the replies. The blue ink sig is the nicer card, but I like the dark ink sig better. I think I'll keep both cards until I get two more tries at Wayne signing two other copies.

I wanted to share the card I received back from WGA that I was most happiest with. Most agree that Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky were the two greatest hockey players of all time. There is always a debate of who was better, Orr or Gretzky, but no other hockey player ever enters the conversation except for perhaps #66.

In 1969 #4 Bobby Orr scored in the 4th period (OT) at 4:44 for the Bruins first Stanley Cup in many years. It is known as "The Goal". In 1969, O-PEE-CHEE's last card of it's
hockey set was The Stanley Cup card, and on the reverse was #4, Bobby Orr. This card was printed before Bobby scored his historic goal.

Wayne Gretzky was age 8 when this goal was seen in Hockey Night In Canada. Wayne was getting recognized at Canada's next phenom for his sensational scoring records.
If Wayne collected hockey cards, then I'm sure card #231 from the 1969-70 opc hockey set could be one of his favorites. So I decided I wanted to get the two greatest hockey players of all time on a card that brings me back to that era, and look at how much Wayne enjoyed signing this card. Look at the detail on this sig compared to his sigs at on the rookies.
