How much did the PSA 10 sell for?

A PSA 9 is up right now at Heritage.

Personally it looks better than the 10.

  • I'm just happy with my EX card I just picked up to complete my EX raw set. I have been working on the 65-69 sets for 20 years now and card 177 was the last hurdle in that set. I bought it from a repable dealer for a decent price. Just working on those pesky 66-67 high numbers and , yep the two Ryans now. I remeber when these Ryans were selling for a couple hundred dollars raw and I thought, wow, the price will never stick. That sample looks like a 9 or 9.5 as it seems to lack the crispness. of a 10. But that's why they say buy the card, not the holder. Still it's a beauty.

Great thing about the 68’s is that the brown burlap hides corners so centering, color, and focus can really shine on a nice example in lower grade. I bought this one a few years ago for over market price and it is a bargain today.

That card is a beauty. It was actually my dad’s.

Really? I bought it from Jeff so assume he sold it to him a few years ago. Have had countless offers, but IMO it looks like an 8/8.5 and would cost too much to replace.

Yep, sold it 4 years ago or so along with a Dr J Rookie that was a 9. I talked to Jeff at the 2018 national, and he apparently took a loss on the Dr J...he said he held it too long. Obviously he should have held it a bit longer!

Interestingly, my dad hated the Ryan. He tried grading it 3 times and the first 2 it got a MINSIZRQ. When it finally graded, it was far lower than expected, due to the damage that resulted in the 5.5, which he believes wasn’t there prior to grading.

That 5.5 looks like it could easily be a 7 from the front

Thank you for the info and explanation. When you say damage that resulted you mean as in psychological damage from subbing it several times. I had a Bench rookie that was a 6 that looked like an 8, but that thing was a rattler - you could play maracas shaking it In the holder 🤣
