Opinions appreciated RE: game used items and having them signed

So, I have coming a Johnny Bench game worn hat. I was thinking of having him sign it and maybe even with the inscription "game used".

I have a couple of opinions from another site but would still like to hear more opinions....if anyone has any they would like to share.

Thumbs up? Thumbs down? (to having it signed and inscribed "game used")

It is up to you, as you know by now there are 2 school of thought on the subject. If you are the "end user" then do whatever you prefer and want to do. If you are going to sell it in the near future, let the next guy make the decision. If you do get it auto, my preference in under the bill of the cap, unless of course this would damage any marking that are already there. I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but they are my opinions. I don't hate auto'd pieces, but I also don't seek them out for unsigned gamers either.

When the choice is yours, go with your gut. I think it makes sense on a "less" valuable piece like this than compared to a historic GU item or more expense item.

I don't mind on top of the bill. I prefer "game worn" to "game used" for worn items. You should have as much documentation as possible with you at signing to support it was game worn. Many athletes won't sign an item like that (thankfully) without strong evidence they wore it.
