Latest Pick up: Aaron Rookie!

I've been patiently saving my money to purchase an Aaron rookie while at the National in August.
Well, my patience ran a little thin today, because I picked up this nice specimen from PWCC. I thought I got a really good deal on it until the taxes in CA kicked in.
I'm still happy with everything overall and can't wait to get it in the mail.

Thank you for looking.

CA Taxes have turned me off to a couple of purchases this year. It's pretty ridiculous.

    Edited to add: GREAT CARD!

Paul ... congrats on picking up a card that you have wanted for a long time!

It's a shame that people cannot just wish someone well when they are so excited to get a card. If you have nothing nice to say then just pass on commenting!!!

Paul, awesome pick-up. Always wanted an Aaron rookie but always spend my money on something else. Glad you were able to pick it up.

So, what is next on the list?

    Congrats on the pickup, pdub!

NOT an easy card to find centered. Nice one!

Paul...they have a policy that if you pay via check/MO and live in CA they will cover the taxes. Sorry about it being after the fact but maybe you can use for your Mantle rookie...lol.

    Mark,

I've still got some money saved up for the National, as the Aaron wasn't going to be the only card I was going to buy. I'm hoping to get a '52 Bowman Musial in a PSA 5/6/7, that is the only card left for the Musial Basic Registry. I'd also like to pick up some more Aaron's for his Basic Registry...I'll just have to see how far the dollar goes at the National. It's my first one, so I'm probably going to be walking around with my jaw on the floor the whole time.

    Jeff,

If I would have know, that would have saved me a good chunk of money, but it was my first time buying from PWCC, so I had no clue. At least I know for the future.
    Thanks for the heads up.

    Paul

P.S. Thank you everyone for the kind words. I'm still very excited, with or without the print defects!

I think that's a nice 5. Great pickup-congrats. You'll never regret owning an Aaron RC.

I wouldn't worry too much about certain people's criticisms. As long as you are psyched about it, which you clearly are, that is all that really matters.

A CLASSIC rookie card from a fantastic vintage set!!

  • << <i>they have a policy that if you pay via check/MO and live in CA they will cover the taxes. >>

    How does this make sense?

CA sales tax is 8.75%. Paypal fees for PWCC are 2.2% + $0.30 or lower.

    Am I missing something?
