WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
<< <i>I was almost in on that one. It is centered FAR, FAR better than the usual example-- in any grade. Comparing it to other 6s on VCP, I only saw one other as nice. I think more and more collectors are buying the card these days, rewarding great specimens and punishing overgraded examples. I see now the snipe I would have set would have been beaten. >>
If that were a coin, CAC would give it a "gold bean!"

Was it your card?
And if my assumption is accurate, I'd like to know why Bobby's ebay account "wandw-auctions" placed a bid of $555.55 on May-27-13 19:22:30 PDT.
<< <i>Based on Bobby's enthusiasm, as well as his lack of response to my question in this thread and his very angry comments directed towards me in another thread, I'm going to assume this 1952 Bowman Mantle was Bobby's consignment.

yea, I'm sure Bobby is going to a place a $555 bid on a card with a $1200 VCP average to "drive" the price up on a card he "owns". Good grief. I think it is pretty obvious from his post it is not his card.

Is it? I don't understand why he'd be so excited about the price if it wasn't his consignment.

Maybe he too owns the card....and seeing this jump in price might inspire him to sell his? Doesn't seem far-fetched.
His bid could've been an attempt to buy a card below VCP.
If he was "shilling" wouldn't he have continued to bump the price even higher than $555?

I assume Bobby is hinting that their is suspicious bidding given the auction results pwcc (and probstein) seem to get for the same grade compared to other sellers...hence the '"or....well....you know..."...it's called sarcasm.

Cause I would love to have the card for $555. If I would have won that card for that paltry amount (like I had a snowballs chance in hell), it would have been Christmas in June! Am I not allowed to try to get cards same as you?? I tell you what buddy boy. I have an open offer to pay $1,000 for every 1952 Bowman Mantle #101 PSA 6 non qualified card out there. That is almost double my $555 bid!

Sure seems that way. It is not the same as it was years ago. Alot of name calling as degenerates make up multiple alts just to make themselves feel better about their own miserable lives.
But how many Miltons am I holding.
You say there is no way to tell if you cant see the tell tale white lines of miltons. Not true if you learned anything about miltons.
Mow many miltons are in this group?
