1842-O Seated Dime R6 Die Variety Question

BoosibriBoosibri Posts: 11,867 ✭✭✭✭✭
Any experts in the Liberty ted Dime series care to weigh in with an opinion on this die variety?

It appears to me to be a Fortin 106 which is an R6. Note the die defect at the base of Liberty's nose and the die gouge, though difficult to see at the index finger.

Any thoughts from the group. Any perspective on grade and value?

based on the obv pic, id say mid VF. my personal experience with this variety has been better than gerry's ive seen enough of them that i would say its more of an R4 JMHO coupled with nearly 10 years of SLD variety experience.

Thanks. What kind of premium does the variety carry, if any.

It is not a highly sought after variety and getting much premium from other than a dozens people would be tough.

I would offer it for sale and price it and see if you get an offer.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org
