Latest Capped Bust Quarter pickups

Had a chance today to photograph my latest Capped Bust Quarters...

I purchased the 1819 from AnkurJ (many thanks once again!) and the other two from auctions. The first two have beans. All are in edge view holders, which are a real pain to photograph because every one that I own have scuffs which I cannot get out, no matter how much Plast-X I use. This is most evident in the third pic - around the nose on the obverse and the shield and top edge of the reverse.

edited to add: The first two are also featured on CoinFacts.

As always, comments are welcome. Feel free to post your own.

Your 1819 Small 9 Wide Date Bust Quarter is very interesting. It is the latest die state listed for the B-3 marriage. In this marriage the obverse 1's have defective left lower serifs. On the reverse we have the 5 broadly recut; a second period above the normal period makes it look like a colon; all the T's are defective at bottom right; and crack from rim goes through 5 up into stem.

    Nice pickup.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

those are really nice and high grade early quarters! Are you collecting the series by die variety? How far along is your collection?

very nice pieces, I like how one of the 1831 coins is "low 3" and the other is "high 3)

Thanks for all the compliments. Baley, I'm not sure I'd call them all "high grade". In decending order they are graded XF-40, VF-35, and AU-53. One thing I love about this series is that you can find nice looking coins in this grade range unlike, say, buffalo nickels for example.

Am I collecting by die marrage? That wasn't my intention but I did want to fill out the registry with any varieties listed. I once had a self-imposed rule about not upgrading but I've done that a few times. So then I imposed a rule upon myself that if I upgraded, it had to at least be a different die marriage. That didn't work out either image As far as the 1831 date goes I have two other coins as well. A VF-35 Small Letters:

and a XF-45 Large Letters (which is actually a higher grade than the coin I posted above but this coin is mislabelled as a Small Letters and I therefore couldn't fill the Large Letters slot with it in the registry. I just haven't bothered to send it back to PCGS to get it fixed).

Each coin is the same Browning Number as the ones above (the small letters are both B1s and the large letters are both B5s) so I've broken my rule once again.

Well they're high grade for the series, if not in an absolute (70) sense, and overall have really nice surfaces. I collect them in the good-fine range so your examples would be significant upgrades. As far as the die marriage, that's exactly how I started, first with a type coin, then on to a date set, then major varieties, then die varieties, then finally by die states (which is how you can get around the "no duplicates" rule) I did focus most heavily on the large ones so only have 3 or 4 of the smaller sized coins. Nice collection you have, would like to see more image
