What do you think is going on with the obverse of this ASE? In the top left, is that a die scratch, die break or something else? The vertical line that crosses over the arm.
Whether a die crack or strike thru . . . That is . . . especially in a PCGS 70 holder ! ! !

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set: 1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S. Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
I appreciate all of the replies. As I look at this closer, it looks like a small piece of hair may have caused the strike through. The actual line is closer to the color represented in the ASE fields (lighter and brighter).
If this was an actual scratch, there would be no way PCGS would give this a 70. The line is very uniform and does not appear to be consistent with a scratch. I also ruled out a scratch on the case. I'm surprised PCGS did not attribute the coin accordingly. Thanks again.
I would like to see a close up. Clearly not a scratch if you believe the grade, as I cannot imagine the grader missing that! Coin should be in an Error holder.

Possibly a struck thru, but it just doesn't look convincing from your scans.
My first impression was that it was a scratch across the arm -
We need closer scans of that area before a firm determination can be made.
If it's a Struck Thru, I'm a bit surprised by the grade; if it's a scratch, then it happened during the sealing operation, and after the coin was graded, I'd suppose.

as they are very tough on grading ASE's lately.

They don't attribute errors for free even if it is a struck through.
