No one probably cares, but in case of the 1 person that may, I'll post this. I recently purchased 4 NGC MS70 2012 $5 gold SBB comms to cross at PCGS. I broke them from their slabs and sent in as a raw coin. The results?? 2-69's and 2-70's.

I did it as an experiment. Luckily, I didn't get killed on it.

I've done similar experiments with Proof Plats crossing (cracking out) NGC PF 70 - my outcome is roughly 40% (2 out 5 would get PR70)

well, the Pcgs ms70 tends to sell at $900+. I picked up the NGC's at $600 each and $25/coin grading. The Pcgs 69's go for around $500.So I guess I made a little. Would have done well if I could have eaked out 1 more 70. I think I will continue this venture if I can find a cheap NGC out there.
