Got out today in a swimming hole and found a first for me...

The swimming hole in Ben Lomond at Highlands Park is pretty magical for me, having found a 1910 Kraemer automatic lighter and a 21 gram 14k vintage gold necklace in it. Someone recently drowned there (In 4ft of water!?) and I hadn't been back in over a year. I got out there today with my White's Dualfield Pro and found this!

Okay, I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the Nazis, but it is the first item I've ever found with a swastika on it. The signal was really faint and I had to go through a lot of rocks and sand to get to it. The Highlands park creek is full of depressions (bowls) that trap all kinds of heavier material.

wow, well isn't that interesting? Any idea what it was used for?

From what I can tell, the symbol was nothing more than something the company used for a logo until the mid 1930s from the Nazis hijacked it. It looks like a gas valve.

It is a gas valve.... no idea who used the swastika.... although, the swastika is an ancient symbol, even used by some Native American tribes... Cheers, RickO
