Crack or Crossover? Two '71 Ryans...

Edges look to be the culprits on both... crack or cross? Need a PSA 7 for my set, would love an 8... would probably sell the lower of the two, but think PSA would do better there too.

What do you think?

Bonus: What about the Munson? 6? 7? PD (speckles)?

    I think the SGC 86 is a very, very safe PSA 7- and maybe a 7.5. I think the top right corner probably keeps it out of an 8 holder but it wouldn't be a crime against humanity if it got there. I'd crack the one on the left and sell the one on the right.

    The Munson gets a straight 6 IMO.

    The sgc86 should cross straight up (7.5, 7 as a worst case).

    The sgc84 could snag a 7 ,

    The Munson is a wild card, guessing 6, more likely 5.5

    Mike,

    I had the same idea you have. I submitted two Ryans that were BGS 8 and PSA clobbered them. Yours appear to be in about the same shape mine were in, but I think your corners look better. Good luck if you submit. The Munson looks to be a 6, but PSA seems to look really hard on corners for the 71s.

    Mike, I'd say the one on the left will definitely get you a PSA 7.

    The Munson looks like a 6 to me too. Good luck with the sub!!!

    The Ryan on the left gathers at least 7.....I think if the one on right squeezes out a 7 you jump up/down for joy. Munson =straight 6
    I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!

    May be the scan, but the bottom edge of that Munson looks funky. MC?

    Seem to be good grades. I dont normaly agree with sgc but I dont see an upside to cracking or crossing these. Id keep them in the case. But you have a great record at proving me wrong.

    I think if you cross them they are both 7s. I think they both have 8 potential but you'd need to crack them open and submit for 8s. Then of course, you're taking a little more risk.

    Crack the Ryans, get a 7.5-8 on the left one, probably a 6 on the right one, that fingernail mark on the right side bugs me. Of course you send in the Munson anyway, probably get a 6.

    Always crack.

    The Ryans will probably grade 7 or 7.5 on the left and a 6 or 6.5 on the right.

    Munson looks like a straight 6.

    I am pretty happy - would have loved to keep the .5 on the Ryan on the left though!

    The Yaz was the nicest card in the sub, so was a little surprised there - but very happy with the percentage of 8's.

    Speckles or not, any other card in the set besides Munson gets a straight 6.
