<< <i>Just ripped everything and my best was back to back cards in one of my 82 Grocery racks of Lee Smith and Cal Ripken! The Smith will be probably an 8 but the Ripken oh my! Perfect centering, corners, edges, gloss. The only thing is that each pic is just a tick off to the right in each box where each pic goes ever so slightly on the white outside the box lines.
As far as the Ripken goes, I dont know if off-registered printing affects grading, but supposing it did not and it came back a 10, it would be an ugly 10. So, in that regard, I would say that yes, it would affect grading. I would think its in the ballpark of an 8 just because. And the bottom left corner and edge has me concerned as well. But I dont think it would get higher than a 9. It is well centered as you say! Still, it's a nice pull!!
Got mine today as well!! Nothing opened yet, just a quick check for stars on packs and came up empty on that.
I did add a couple boxes of 1989-90 Hoops Series 1 for next to nothing for some cheap ripping entertainment. There were two packs with Jordan on top and one with a Robinson roookie on bottom. Not really worth much, but still kinda cool.
Got em today! On a side note, want to add why Steve and the gang are the best. Making a long story short, I overpaid and they caught it and emailed me. Most folks would of kept the money and shut up. Thats integrity right there!! Hats off to everybody at BBCE
Tough break on the Ripken. I am not an expert on '82 Topps, but I have not seen that particular problem on that card. The box frames themselves are centered very nicely T/B and L/R, but the photos didn't land squarely in the boxes. Tough break..... Very nice card otherwise. I DO think that issue would affect grading and would likely result in an 8.
I doubt I'll see anything before Friday at the earliest. I think Big Brown is stuck in the mud.

Received my box from BBCE today--everything was well packed as usual. The 82 grocery racks are super clean and bright--beautiful and definitely case fresh. Will have some fun determining who is showing through the yellow cello. I saw Bench on top of one of grocery packs. I also added a pair of PSA 9 Mint 1972 beauties, from both sides of the border, to my order..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Got the order from BBCE. I appreciate how quickly the orders are shipped out and how well they are packed.
Opened the 1989 UD packs so far, with nothing of note. The 1985 FB will be a present. The rest ended up in my Football wax pack run from 1970-90. Just need a legit 1971 to round it out.

Very nice!! It's interesting to see that Topps seem to have gotten lazy with their wax pack design in the 80's and later. While in the 70's, each year is very distinct from the other.
Thanks, Joe! 72 is one of my favorite years...love the graphics on the wrapper.

Opened my '79 OPC. Did get a McCovey but it and all the others in the pack were very OC. Some almost have no borders. Guess thats it way it goes with OPC.
So, I was able to find time to at least open the box and lay out what I received, and was I SHOCKED!!!
Fernando and Johnny Bench
Kirby Puckett!!! I couldn't believe it!
I'll rip them all except the Puckett and Bench packs. I already ripped the 83 Topps BB and nothing big, pulled Brett in one pack and R. Henderson, Ozzie Smith, and Fergie Jenkins in the other. All too OC to submit.

Sure enough. Thursday and no delivery. I'm jealous. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

78 opc's were all severly miscut and gum was stuck so hard to last card it was ruined. 81 and 82 topps football were in nice condition just didnt pull anything 86 football decent condition pulled a nice walter payton. 85 topps rack packs pulled a real nice puckett. 83 baseball cellos were in good shape just did not pull anything.
did add on an 88 topps football box and pulled 3 bo jacksons and an 85 topps baseball box with an absolute clemens gem mint 2 nice mcgwires and another puckett.
Got my box today. Of course my wife saw it and now wants to know how some that "only cost 20 bucks" needs such a big box??? I hope she didn't sort through it all ready. Thanks BBCE and Mark!
On a related note had been holding some if the 81 cellos in my desk at work and ripped into one today to find a dead centered glossy Valenzuela rookie. Can't wait to sub it to PSA for a 6!
I opened 5 of the 10 packs. The odds of getting a 2 Flag is one per 3 packs with 21 different 2 flags in the set and the odds of getting a 3 Flag is one per 7 packs with 21 different 3 flags in the set.
Got mine today. This was first time as part of the rip so I went kind of light this time with just 4 packs of 87-88 Fleer Basketball. All I pulled was an Olajuwan in NM and an Magic sticker that looks minty. Hope you guys all have better luck. It was still fun....love that rush of opening it up in search of those few gems.
Finally got a chance to bust my packs. Nothing great but I did get an 1983 Ripken. Great card but discoloration on the tan boarder. The '83 Henderson and Dawson are the only 2 worth sending in
Reeceived my DS pack today. Nothing special. Better Luck next time. Thanks again to all.

Yea, got my packs yesterday too. I was a little disappointed that out of 60 opportunities (front and back of cello packs) the biggest "star" showing was George Foster. Can't win them all.
Also, 4-5 of my 8 1982 Grocery packs had broken seals on the back. I know that by nature the seal isn't strong on those grocery packs but I was hoping that "case fresh" would lead to better seals. Anyone else have the same experience?
Good news everyone. My 7 packs of 87 Fleer Basketball had no Jordans in them. That means your odds have greatly increased if you were on the fence to open or not. The cards are pretty nicely centered and I think there are a few gradeable, including a Drexler, Isiah, Dumars, and Olajuwon. Might send some of the commons too as a few of those in 10 have hit pretty nice prices recently.

I bought 8 packs and 2 of them fell apart in my hands. As I was going through them, the packs just fell out of the back of the yellow wrapper. Topps must not have cared much about the seal, or they were stored bad early on. Nothing that BBCE did I'm sure.
I received my packs yesterday and opened them today. I'm not sure who to look for in the hockey packs so I don;t know if I got any decent cards in those. The baseball packs have to be the worst I have ever gotten in one of these rips. The best card I got was an off-centered Ryan Sandburg rookie in one of the 83 Donruss Fun Bags. The only plus in the entire rip was the other packs in the same Fun Bag. All the cards in those other packs were 1981 Donruss golf cards. Out of 12 packs with golf cards I got 8 Jack Nicklaus cards. I bought a bunch of those last Christmas when BBCE had them as part of their 12 days of Christmas. I went through them and found them to have very strange collation. I felt like every card was a quality control reject that got put into non-descript wax packs. One single pack I got a Gwynn and a Boggs rookie. While another pack were doubles of commons. The packs themselves are not the packs from wax boxes, so they seemed to be cards Donruss did not know what to do with.

Seems like you did well then? I am not a nascar collector, but would think he would be a premier guy to pull, right?
The funbags with golf in them used to sell for a pretty good premium. Not sure if you got lucky or something changed over the last few years

I opened one awhile back too and got a Gwynn and Boggs, both nicely centered but with a rough edge. I was happy though...
Just got my box in today (San Diego). Everything came in sans UD Hockey box. But that should be easily taken care of. They will remain sealed anyway. From what I gander, of the 12 1982 Grocery Racks, 1 or 2 had the seam split open. Otherwise there is one with a Nolan Ryan Record Breaker on top and another with Pete Rose on the bottom. Otherwise they look "case fresh". As far as others that may have "stars on top". Cant tell if the Fleer Basketball has a Jordan on the bottom or not. Not sure if thats a good or bad or double-edged sword. So I will have to research it a little. Thats all for now. Pics will come later.
