  • Mark,

It looks like you've got a nice mix started. Considering how empty the shelves are at BBCE I give you a lot of credit for staying on top of Steve's ever dwindling inventory. It looks like we can have at least one more fun break! As for the future I'm not counting on much being available so breaks later this year may be jeopardized.

I agree! Slim pickins anymore! I am always a junkie for 80's football(except 85, not a big fan of it).
Besides that, I like 84 Donruss and 83 topps in baseball. If you can get this around it might be our last chance at a cool rip. Never know when Steve can get in some more good stuff! Anyways, theres my $.02

I say get this stuff while you can. There have been several indicators that new supplies of 1970s and even up to early 1990s unopened (at least the stuff with something to shoot for in a rip) are dwindling...and the end of it can't be too far away. Guys that were old enough to have had the income to put away large amounts of this stuff are all now of retirement age. So if anything, you would expect more of this stuff to be coming out at this time if it was still out there, yet we are seeing the opposite with most products. I have had conversations with a few of such older buyers from the 1970s and 1980s in the last few months and I bought the little bit of decent unopened they had left - and I am talking about some of the cheaper stuff......because they sold off the older products a while back.

I'm in for anything 70s and early 80s baseball. Thanks again, Mark, for putting together another group rip! Your effort and time are very much appreciated!

  • I'm down for early 80's BB as well. Please see if we can get 1984 Donruss. Id be in for a couple of those along with 83 Topps BB.

Greatly appreciate you still doing these group breaks while supporting BBCE and letting us have a good time along the way Mark. Your efforts do not go unnoticed around these boards.

I like having junk wax options on this one. It would be a nice opportunity for some really cheap rippage, since I don't rip that often.
  • I would be in for any 90s Upper Deck Hockey.

I really like seeing that 89 Score FB case in there.

I'd also be in for the 85 FB wax and 89 UD BB foil, those are always fun and cheap to rip
  • mikliamiklia Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭
all of the above! and 90 UD Hockey is a fun rip.
  • Junk wax is certainly fun by the box. Does the shipping costs support buying packs? I forget what the charges are.

Also BB from 2000's and up would also be welcome. I am not as familiar with the newer stuff, so it would be a nice way to see some of it.

I don't intend to speak for Mark, but I think adding more people to the mix would only complicate matters and potentially cause even greater confusion in the coordination of what is already a rather extensive list of participants. Mark has done and continues to do a terrific job organizing these group rips, imo.

I have emailed Steve to see if we can reserve the 85 Topps rack box and the 97 UD Super Series Racing box. I should know in the morning.

I think I will be able to go live on Thursday with the rip. Damn, this is going to be an epic rip as far as the number of boxes and the cross section of genre is concerned. Just think we are now busting racing boxes.......no insult to the nascar fans but this just goes to show how popular the breaks are.

What I should be whining about is how shady you are and how it takes some real nerve for you to keep posting on this board. Second, you only see it as whining because it doesn't work with your agenda. More members agreed with me than disagreed when I brought up the points about 1 per pack and the free boxes. In fact the only ones that disagreed last times were you and grote.

We ran breaks before you showed up and I'm sure we will continue after you've finished abusing the board and leave.
