Many people like the 2001 Bowman Chrome Ichiro Japenese Refractor. The XFractor, auto refractor, and gold refractor are usually pretty out of reach price wise.

If you're looking for base rookies, grab the 2001 Topps Traded and 2001 Bowman Draft. I always like to grab the Chrome versions whenever possible.

I am partial to the 2001 Bowman's Best Ichiro myself. This card is recognized in a few registry sets as his rookie representation (Silver Sluggers, etc).

If you are looking way outside the box, then this card does not come available often, affordably anyway: 2001 Ultimate Collection Ichiro RC another here.

Now is the time to grab Ichiro, they will be going up soon.

I'm sure sumo man could give some info on his Japanese cards. I would to own his first Japanese card for my collection.... But in a sucker for XRCs.

The 2001 SPx Jersey / Auto. is also highly sought after. Unlike Ultimate Collection, they are easier to find (a reported 1,000 were made), and add in an autograph and jersey, and it's a sure winner. PSA 10's can be $2k+, but you can get a NM/MT version in the $500 - $700 range.

The Bowman Refractor and Bowman Heritage are high in terms of popularity.

I also like the UD Sweet Spot-

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
