So I saved up some money from selling Bowman Chrome Auto Cards and I'm stuck between buying one nice card or buying a few more boxes of wax. I'm literally addicted to opening packs of cards, but I'm afraid that if I come up short on the boxes I'm going to wish I bought the one card.

Not a huge amount compared to some other cards I've seen on here, but a few hundred dollars would get me a decent mid-grade vintage card depending on the seller and his/her greed.

Pack ripping is a temporary satisfaction.

The card will not provide the same sense of temporary satisfaction as ripping packs, the card you can look at whenever you want to and will provide longer lasting satisfaction.

Buy the card...

Buy the card and then get some junk wax because chances are it'll produce as much profit as a more expensive box.

I'd say get the card. Otherwise, it might stay on your want-list or a long time while you buy clumps of smaller things.
