The 1st Friday of Spring '13 Metal Porn Thread

What'd you all pick up this past week? I am glad to finally be able to contribute something.

Picked up this awesome complete set, same serial numbered 1969 3 oz Foster set from a generous member here image
image
image

Also picked up the 5 oz old pour Engelhards from another member here, and had to have the 2 oz Keller bar...don't see them that often anymore, and the prize of the week is I practically stole the highly coveted 3 oz Foster 1970 Great Bend bar with original box and cert., probably the most sought after bar in the entire series.

Nice bars Rich. Are you specializing in Foster bars along with Engelhard 5 oz bars?

Nice Engelhards Rich, loving those cooling rings on the 4422.

Never really got into the foster bars, but I know they have interesting history behind them... nice Newps.

Thank you. Yes I am, when I get some time, I will post what I have built. My goal on them is to get complete sets with same serial numbers, including original packaging and certs. of all 3 years. I have 2 sets of the '69 set, 1 of the '70 set...the '68 set is eluding me at a reasonable price. I have all the bars for the '68 set, but they are not all the same serial number.

I recently sold off (flooded the market) with all my doubles & triples with random serial numbers. Kind of took a bit of a beating doing it on eBay, but I learned my lesson not to flood the market again.

rawteam1, did you pick up the JM gold bar at the Baltimore show last week? I saw a similar bar there and I recall it was an odd number of grams.

This Engelhard 10 oz arrived this week. It looks like a early transitional 99 9+ bar with flat top, bottom and vertical sides.

I will say, I enjoy the shape and feel of the two ounce Monarch bars, just 'cause they're different I guess.

Also bought a 3-bedroom house to flip.

I didn't do it on purpose, but those silver dragons do look pretty good on the blue pearl granite in the kitchen!
Sad thing is all that gold and silver sitting on top is still less than the cost of the granite!

This is my only purchase for this week...................................

I bought it today from a LCS for 34.00. It is a "Northwest Georgia Bank" silver art bar that was minted by World Wide Mint in 1974.

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a '70's silver art bar expert but I try my best to play one on the Internet.

Very nice , I tried to buy the one Morgan pop out at a local BST and he wouldn't let it go....

Oh well I might go back for the shipwreck coins.

Oh, I did see a barber half dollar in the case and asked how much, he said $7.50 but I just gave him a ten and he gave me a 64 dime as change.

Flipped it over and it was a 1908-O, last of the coins from down in N.O.
