To my very untrained eyes, I think it looks okay. However, if you are getting very serious about the purchase, I'd probably think about getting an PSA QuickOpinion for $10. As to whether the auto is worth 10K, that seems high to me. You can probably buy a slabbed cut auto for Ruth for around $3-4K, so just adding Gehrig doesn't seem like it'd be worth the extra 6-7K, IMHO. (Disclaimer, although I want an auto for both Ruth and Gehrig, I've never bought one before.)

I'd get it checked out by PSA first before I shell out that kind of money. I'm thinking more like 6-8k if its' legit.
  • on the back it says it has been authenticated by JSA I really think it looks good. how do i get a quick opinion from PSA? this item is not on ebay

JSA is a legit authentication company. My concern would be the price. That is a VERY cool piece to add to your collection, but the price is kinda high.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

Autos are legit, price is a few thousand too high IMO

That is the cheesiest card frame for two of the most iconic autographs. I agree the price is way too high but if I owned it I would pull it out of that holder so fast and find a nice photo of the two greats.
  • whats a fair price to pay for this card? $8000?

Just depends on how bad you want that particular one and how much money means to you. I'd venture to say that if one is patient and has time yo search, they might find an attractive Ruth and Gehrig combo signed sheet for $6 to $7 k. I believe Leaf charges circa $50 to make those. So with shipping and related, you could have one done for $6100 to $7100. I dont believe the one you are looking at is a pack pull as you can send in your own graphs to have done like that.

However, if your time is more valuable than money, and the price differential is not material to you, then if you want it, jump on it, or make an offer in between $6100 and $10,000

If I was going to buy $10K worth of autographs, I sure wouldnt buy a chopped one in a modern non contemporary gimmick 'card'.

buy the whole vintage piece before its chopped, or better yet a signed photo
