Worried about highest bidder...

So I have right under eight hours left on a card I'm selling on Ebay, and the guy with the highest bid has no feedback at all. The card is at 100 bucks (I know that's not a lot to some). ...Should I be a little worried dealing with a buyer who has hot bought anything yet, and his first (maybe) purchase is going to be 100 dollars? I feel like I might be a little paranoid after what happened to me a few months ago on BluJay.

I would recommend trying to contact the bidder to politely confirm he/she intends to pay if he wins. I understand your being a little worried, but wouldn't suggest canceling the bid. For future auctions where having a high bidder with low feedback would concern you, you might include language in your auction about having people with less than [ ] feedback contacting you prior to bidding, or else their bids will be subject to cancellation.

  • We all had 0 feedback and one point. Just ride it out and see what happens. Worst case - they dont pay and ebay removes your fee.
  • Very good advice, thank you much!

Unfortunately, it also sends up a shilling red flag to some people - justified or not. But we all had to start somewhere.
  • Oh shoot, zep, I didn't even think about that!!!!

Send the item insured and hope for the best if he wins.

Same thing happened to me this weekend, I bid on a Hank Aaron rookie PSA 5, the card sold for over $850 and the winner bidder had a feedback of 1.
I hope the seller gets his money.
