Are Santa Clause $1s Legal Tender?

Somehow I got a $1 bill in my wallet with George's face turned into Santa Clause. Are these fake?

I think I must have picked it up at the Bmore show but I don't know who gave it to me (or pawned it off on me).

Probably it had something to do with the guy in front of me at the concession stand who paid his bill in a combination of Kennedys, SBAs, and $2 bills. And took a long time to do it image

If it looks like this, it's made from a real bill and is legal tender:

If you were given the bill as change, most likely it is a real USD with old Kris Kringle glued to it. I have one myself, given to me by my father when I was a child.

It's real if it's like the pic but spending it might get an unwanted reaction from a cashier.

Use it as a tip.... image

These novelty dollar bill alterations have included adding politicians, actors, sports stars, and other famous people.

Aren't some of the actual hand drawn ones sold at a premium? Is there a signature on the bill...thought there were some artists that did these and sold them well over face a few years ago?
