Mets catching prospect Travis D'Arnaud was hit on the elbow in a spring training game today. He left the game for precautionary reasons and stated that he was fine and that the pitch caught him on the "meaty part of the arm." However, the Mets sent him to their team doctor who, after a thorough examination, amputated his right leg just above the knee...
