Silver Rounds- "Trade Units"

I see these on Ebay when I search for Silver Rounds, whats the story with these? I see alot have the same back but different fronts.

I assume these were from private companies and there were not any real trading done with them.

Also, is there a guid to Silver Rounds out there providing mintage #'s and price guid?

Norfed Liberty dollar scare tactics are working. Perception is nine-tenths of the law.

Not that I'm aware of. Most silver rounds, including your very common Trade Units, sell for only a small premium above spot. A review of completed auctions on eBay should give you some idea.

I guess "small premium" is a relative term. I sold a hexagon 10 oz'er for Spot + $11 not long ago. It's like anything else, if someone wants it bad enough (or in the case of an auction, 2 people) they'll pay top dollar.

I had some of those a while back, just generics basically on the buy/sell from what I ever did with them.
