boxes of 78 rpm records left? I have collected coins for over 50 years and records for over 30 and have never come across one of these-an unopened box of 78 rpm records from the mid 1940's. (yes I am the buyer).
I know - a little off topic so to make it a coin related thread, name a song about coins.
1. Three coins in a fountain.
2. pennies from heaven.
3. put another nickel in.
Any more?
Thanks, Bob

Four hwans in a Lifetime?
I know, I know, these should be darkside...
Do you think that box is really original, unopened? Tape looks new. Slapped over some written message.
Whatever. Congrats!

Used to collect 78's as well, rummaging through bins at Thrift Stores.
Haven't been active at it in years though and I still have some intereting stuff in my collection.
Sorry to say that I can't add any songs to the list.....
In a very abstract way we could add:
Love For Sale
Easy to Love
How High the Moon
Transition
Happy, humble, honored and proud recipient of the “You Suck” award 10/22/2014
He told me about the 1943 Copper cent.
I remember his voice and the line : "If I knew then, what I know now"
After that he had 15 children.
And I got a roll of '43 Steel Cents.
Which reminds me of my sister singing "I got a brand new pair of roller skates, you got a brand new key".
None of this makes sense. I'm just reminiscing .
<< <i>My dad recorded a song on that format (78 RPM) in 1940. He was 19. That reminds me of Steely Dan's "Hey 19" and that reminds me of a STEEL cent.

in the play of the same name. Also had a sone "Money to Burn."
Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and your O.K.
Money it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team
Money get back
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off my stack.
Money it's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet
Money it's a crime
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie
Money so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away
"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"
