Kind of OT-When did eBay start doing this?

When and more importantly why did eBay start masking what an item sold for when a best offer was accepted by the seller?
There's no way to know what it actually ended selling for. Not thru completed listings or thru the sellers feedback.
Why did they start doing this? I use completed listings there quite a bit, but accepted best offers are now only between the seller & buyer I guess. image

they are also delaying letting you see auctions completed for it might be 12 hours to 24 some have even said longer than that. That seems a bit inconsistent though , I don't know whether it varies by category or something else.

If you had an item on a watchlist you can see it sooner than that.
