Question for Ebay sellers??

Do any sellers on Ebay receive requests to do business here on the CU? I would rather do business here, no fee's for the seller and possibly a discount for me. I try to keep it short on Ebay then communicate through the forums.

If they did, they most certainly would not broadcast it especially if the request originated through the eBay email system. (Not allowed & Seller could be subject to expulsion from selling on eBay)

If ebay catches you even responding to such a request to take business off ebay they will sanction you. I get lots of requests to take business off ebay but even if I just reply "call me" ebay will call it a "policy violation". --Jerry

send the seller a message: "Are you a member of the PCGS forum? If so, what's your forum name?"

Then contact the seller through the forum.

I had a guy send me an ebay message once that said "too many questions to post here, give me a call at (XXX) XXX-XXXX." When I called him he asked if I would split the fee savings with him if he mailed me payment.

Sellers also need to be aware, that if you end an auction or BIN auction before completion date, eBay will now assess you a FVF based on either the listed BIN price or the current high bid. In the past, that was not the case.

I thought the fee was for auction listed items with bids only? And the fee was based on the high bidders max bid not current bid amount?

And what is done via PM on this forum is of no business to eBay......image

if ebay has decided to assess a FVF to an auction ended prior to the end date, why not just change the picture to a zinc penny, then drop the price to 1c, and end the listing

That might work on BIN's...but not on auctions with bids on them.image

You may be correct with BIN's ... I've never ended a BIN auction early, but several straight auctions due to foul ups on my part, and as far as I can determine, I was assessed a FVF based on the current high bid.

Since checks are allowed if buyer initiated, I would think there should be no problem sending this through the eBay message system.

  • Why is ebay allowed to charge a FVF on an ended auction ?
    Why haven't sellers rioted ?

Ebay is getting totally out of hand.
