Not overpriced at all

vintagesnowmobiles seems to be a new candidate for ebay seller that overprices their cards the most. Check out his Gretzky OPC PSA 10s

  • I could and did buy two full boxes recently for less then that price! In fairness them it is or best offer.

I actually don't mind listings like this, make it easier to sell my stuff when the time comes. People think it's a bargain!

I don't know about this seller, but in general it is very frustrating dealing with sellers that have a card I am very interested in, yet asking way way too much in relation to the VCP and don't seem to care that it has been sitting on eBay for a year. Do you want to sell it or not? Let's work out a fair price. But they ignore me or just act like an a-hole about it.

They probably don't understand why you didn't buy any of the cards that sold in VCP. If you've been looking for the card for a year and there were sales during that time then what was wrong with all the others and why do you still need it. If there hasn't been any sales of the card in a year then VCP price help is even less of a bargaining tool.
  • It may be just me but when a card is that overpriced I don't even bother to make an offer.

This guy is notorious for ending auctions just before ending if the bid is not in his favor.

I realize most people are sick of the lack of real Auctions and the flood of Fixed Price listings, but if ebay keeps giving away seemingly unlimited Fixed Price listings, then I'll be doing that all day long.

For example, the current "Presidents Week" celebration (Feb. 17-21) where you get 7500 fixed price listings for FREE. So in other words, you can actually list your entire collection card by card for inflated prices in 30-day listings, if you wouldn't mind losing that card for a ridiculous price.

Sure it's annoying to see a card you want/need that's listed at twice the VCP, but the seller is basically "toshing it out there" free of charge for a month, at the off chance that there are some Barnum & Bailey fans out there looking for that particular card. Can't say I blame them.

Their cards have been on ebay for a while. That particular card is now Pop 14.
I recently picked one up for about $200 from 4SC and I considered that top dollar.
  • I paid 200 for mine as well about 6 months ago.

I think most people no longer use auctions as a listing tool, not only because ebay is handing out fixed price auctions, but also because most auctions on items, unless they are premium items, fall nowhere close to what they go for if you have the patience to wait a little bit on selling

Also, just an aside to that statement. About a year or so ago, the ebay apologists were always saying how great ebays changes were. We said back then that you would have a flood of overprices premium items and a flood of garbage....both happened
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
