Can someone please tell me why the 5ox ATB Hawaii pucks are selling for 500.00 plus? It looks like 2010 all over again, Are people going crazy? I dont understand it. Whats your take on it?

    US Mint capped mintage at 20,000.

    Perceived rareness driving goofy bids.

    Once people realize that 20,000 will be the top going forward the price should fall.

    I was under the impression, that only 15,000 P pucks were produced and sold.
    The bullion version sold out with 20,000 produced.

    Considerable lower mintage for the 2012 P & bullion version. No comparison to 2010...we don't have the "Forum Possey" looking out for our best interest. image

    The Hawaii "P" pucks sold out with a reported mintage of 14,863. The Chaco, Acadia and Denali "P" pucks have lower sales to date and are still available from the Mint for $230 each.

    The Hawaii bullion version is bringing around $300 on eBay.

    Hell yes finally a good sign regarding the pucks. I hope the interest continues.

    my take on it is that someone or a few someones who had inside information about how many were actually minted on the initial run,decided to buy en masse abetting the the sellout.Dont call me crazy yet.Apmex was selling the hawaiian P for $249 then it went sell out.Now they are back in stock for $669.hmmmmm
    I missed it from the mint and put a wtb on the bst without results but I can live with buying it much later when the prices get closer to the reality that its not a low mintage per se.I expect to see lower mintages coming in 2013.Maybe I am crazy who knows?image

    The Acadia just went "backorder" with a possible mintage similar to Hawaii. Hopefully we'll get the preliminary total sales figures this week.

    The rest of the 2012-P's are still available from the Mint at $230 each.

    Are people paying stupid money for the acadia ones too?
    Gold is for savings. Fiat is for transactions.
