I'll have mine on Monday. Hopefully you guys cleaned up on the Mike Fiers and I'll come up with the King Felix, Mike Trout, and Andrew McCutchens of the world. I somehow don't see it working out that way though.
Here is an excel sheet I put together with projected set print run.
The auto print run for each player as found on ebay listings Currently at 4656 base autos with 8 players missing. There is also 429 SSP autos (39 players with black to 10 ea and red to 1 ea.) Grand total of 5085 autos.
If each of the 8 players missing have a print run of 50 (none on ebay yet so may be sp's) making 400 more autos our total becomes 5485 or approx. 550 non auto base sets.
The Machado or Skaggs rookie cards may be worth picking up.
Autos Have 4 x Scott Diamond 4 x Chris Archer 3 x Mike Fiers 2 x Steve Cishek 2 x Drew Hutchinson Tyler Colvin Jean Segura Alexi Amarista Andrew Carignan Brad Peac ck

A shameful Ebay plug but I have a few on your list on Ebay atm
Wow I didnt even know they were shipping. I got in on the presale and havent heard a peep that they would be shipping. I am having mixed feelings seeing these rips.
Mixed emotions on this one. 5 boxes, two of the same high number autos but two printing plates. The Colvin is numbered /29. I wish the card stock was the same as the 2005 - 2006 Turkey red.
I havent received a shipping notification for the second batch. Anyone get one yet? Whats the hold up? I got my initial 5 today. I am gonna wait to open them.
<< <i>I havent received a shipping notification for the second batch. Anyone get one yet? Whats the hold up? I got my initial 5 today. I am gonna wait to open them. >>
So 20 boxes, no complete set is that common around here? I'm really hacked off.
Also I got the Twins spare Diamond 5 times and the other spare Archer 5 times and their little buddy the Miami Marlin 3 times.
Two decent autos - Neimann #ed 30/48 and Skaggs #ed 9/10. And a Yonder Alonso Printing Plate. I want to throw this stuff at someone....really crappy collation. Thanks...
I was really bummed that these sold out twice before I could get any. However after seeing what everyone pulled, I don't feel so bad. Bummer on the coalition, fellas.

20 boxes and no complete set....man that really gets to me. I can deal with the cruddy auto's, but all I do is shake my head when out of 199 base cards you can't get 100 different. Anyways would love to do some trading to get this knocked out:
Base Set 1: 16, 28, 30, 34, 44, 51, 61, 77, and 92
Base Set 2: 11, 16, 21-23, 27-32, 34, 35, 40, 43, 44, 48, 51, 54-56, 61-63, 77, 83, 84, 87, 91-93, 95, and 100
Would also trade for any of the base Rangers: 48, 62, or 73
I just checked the Topps site and these boxes are live again at $24.95 a box. I thought about getting some but after seeing the results you guys are having I think I'll pass. James
<< <i>I just checked the Topps site and these boxes are live again at $24.95 a box. I thought about getting some but after seeing the results you guys are having I think I'll pass. James >>
Im not going to buy anymore. Even though I ordered 10 already, it says I can only add 24. At 25 it says they dont have that many in stock.

<< <i>I sold 5 boxes for $185 shipped. I rarely make the right decision of whether or not to open. For once I think I did. This stuff is awful. >>
Does the quality/quantity ratio of the 1 autograph per box suck? It sure does!
Does it suck for the money being charged per box from Topps? Not really!
Is it a really good looking product, for the price? I think so!
Is this product, as you put it, awful? Far, far, far from it!!!
I don't have the budget to go busting uber product (IE. the $50-$500 boxes of 10 cards or less)... so I can't speak from experience in that arena... but 2013 Turkey Red, for a modestly priced semi-premium product, is probably the best product I've busted as a buyer/collector/seller in several years. I thought the online exclusive of Topps Mini last year was hot... this has been way better.
I bought 20 boxes for $399.80 delivered from the pre-sale. In the 36 hours since I received them and busted all 20 boxes, I have...
1) Put together a complete 100 card base set for my collection 2) Given a couple cards away to help others with their sets 3) Listed my "big" hits (IE. printing plates & black border au's) and most of my duplicate base cards on eBay 3a) To date, with auctions that will end with bid(s) and/or BIN purchases, I have grossed just over $300 in sales with a net of roughly $240 after fees & shipping 3b) I've had no shortage of buyers willing to spend $2.99 to $15.99 for single base cards
I have not even attempted to sell my base autographs yet... and as for my base cards, I listed them all as 3 day auctions w/ BIN option... what doesn't sell (in addition to my triples which I didn't list) will be posted for sale on Sportlots as soon as they add Turkey Red to their available set inventory.
At this rate, I should easily make my money back... plus some... and have a complete set for my personal collection! And I didn't even score one of the really good hits!!!
I don't know about you, but I don't find that success with a new product release very often... I'd hardly call that awful.
I'm not a high end box breaker by any means...was just my opinion. Its good to see so many people interested in it. There's obviously a market for it based on Topps selling out the pre-sale, and people coming close to paying double for the boxes. I don't think the original price of $19.99 is horrible...I just see the product as a perfect "sticker dump" vehicle for Topps. I guess if people are willing to spend $19.99 on flagship Topps blasters where you have little to no chance at an auto...this product seems like a slam dunk.
I bought 6 boxes...opened one. Wasn't feeling it, and sold the rest.
Also...if new product "success" means being able to collect it for free, or sell it off for a profit. I 100% agree. The topps on-line exclusives have been awesome. Profit to be made on the last 3 for sure. Heritage High Number, Mini's, and Turkey Red. The formula has worked...low end cards, limited production, not available in stores, toss in a autograph checklist where 90% of them are garbage...and BINGO!
There were also 400 printing plates, which means that approximately 400 boxes only contained 9 base cards... bringing the number of possible sets down to 518 (and 1/2).
Unless Topps releases the true numbers, which I doubt they ever will... we have to remember that they always hold some cards back for damage replacements, missing hits, promotions, etc.
I'm guessing the real number of boxes sold was probably 5100... not 5225... which works out perfectly if they held back 1 each of the Black Bordered autos & 2 each of the regular autos... since they don't/can't hold back 1/1's.
So, with 400 printing plates... and perfect base card allocation... that would mean exactly 470 possible sets in existence!
Your math is off, if the total print run of sets is 5,225 -- then the total number of sets is 53. Remember there are 100 cards in a set and you divide the number by 100 (or in easier terms, just remove the final two numbers).
My suspicion is that there will be about 50-60 base cards of each player and that means the base cards are in far shorter supply then the Scott Diamond autographs (the one I pulled)

The AUTOGRAPHS add up to 5,225. The pool of base cards would be ten times that number (52,250) minus 400 printing plates. That's the figure that gets divided by 100 and results in a production run just north of 500 sets.
Thanks to Eric, aka epatmythes for a #30 for my sets today.
Also arrived were my 7 boxes which will be my last of the product. My goal was to get enough to get a complete set (I thought 27 would do it, and might get me two, but sadly left me 1 card short of 1 set). Would love to trade for the following cards below and that includes autos for base....
Here is what I still need: 2013 TOPPS TURKEY RED (SET 1): 28 - Ryan Zimmerman 2013 TOPPS TURKEY RED (SET 2): 11, 16, 23, 28, 30, 34, 43, 44, 51, 54, 61, 77, 87, 92, 95, and 100
I wouldn't also mind picking up another one of the 3 Rangers: 48 - Beltre, 62 - Kinsler, or 73 - Darvish
Here's what I have: 2013 Topps Turkey Red Dupes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 x2, 9, 10 x2, 12, 13, 14 x2, 15, 18, 19 x4, 24 x2, 25, 26 x4, 33 x2 ,37 x2, 41, 42, 45 x2, 46, 47 x2, 49 x2, 50, 52, 53, 57 x2, 58, 59, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68 x2, 71 x3, 72, 74, 75, 76, 78, 79, 80 x2, 81, 82 x2, 85, 86, 88 x2, 90 x2, 94, 96, 97, and 98 Autos: Tyler Skaggs - Diamondbacks (Brown Border) #ed 9/10 Alcides Escobar - Royals #ed 20/20 Jeff Niemann - Rays #ed to 48 x2 Jerry Sands - Red Sox #ed 110/139 Drew Hutchinson - Blue Jays #ed to 389 x3 Andrew Carignan - A's #ed 620 x2 Mike Fiers - Brewers #ed to 689 x2 Scott Diamond - Twins #ed to 689 x4 Steve Cishek - Marlins #ed to 689 x5 Chris Archer - Rays #ed to 689 x5 Printing Plate: Yonder Alonzo - Padres (Magenta) #ed 1/1
What I want to do with the rest is try and make some money back (what I don't trade). In you guys opinions what would be the best thing to do with my extras which will be my triplicates. Sell individually? Make team sets? Sell the autos individually? Any strategy there? $.99 cent 7 day auctions and let 'em ride? BINs? Thanks in advance for any opinions, cards, and trades ahead of time.
Amazing. I just went through my dupes to see if I had anything for Matt. I dont have any of your dupes Matt sorry. But I do have triples of mutiple cards. I only bough 5 boxes, how the heck does that happen?
Matt I would take what you have left over after trades and do like you said. Seven day .99 auction. There are going to be alot of people trying to put this set together. If 27 boxes wont make a set I doubt 30 will. Secondary market will be nice to these cards.

Any idea what this might bring in if I put it up on the Bay?
<< <i>Well they came today. To rip or not to rip. If i get 5 high number autographs I will be ticked! Going to decide after dinner. >>
There are 5 high number cards that are 30-1 over other autos.
Out of 43 autos you can get 150 (30x5) high numbers and 1 each of the low numbers (38).
38 out of 188
So approx. 1 in 4.5 boxes will have low number auto.
I hit 3 out of 10
totallyradd 2 out of 5
al032184 4 out of 20
That is 9 out of 35
Tough call, I have 5 more coming and thinking same way.
I might just keep them sealed.

I saw UPS dropped my 20 boxes off this afternoon... ran home from work real quick, ripped them, and headed straight back to work!
I'll be posting my needs and haves later tonight.
I didn't pull a Trout auto, which was really the only one I was interested in, so I'll probably put all the auto's on eBay.
I think I got maybe 3-4 regular auto's numbered under 100, then I got 2-3 each of the high number autos.
I did pull 2 black border auto's #/10... Trevor Bauer and I forget the other
I also pulled 2 printing plates... Aroldis Chapman and I forget the other
I'll post scans of my "hits" along with my lists later today.
Good stuff!!! Fun rip!!!
Have probably 70 unique extras to trade
My main hits...
Also I got the Twins spare Diamond 5 times and the other spare Archer 5 times and their little buddy the Miami Marlin 3 times.

Also arrived were my 7 boxes which will be my last of the product. My goal was to get enough to get a complete set (I thought 27 would do it, and might get me two, but sadly left me 1 card short of 1 set). Would love to trade for the following cards below and that includes autos for base....
Here is what I still need:
2013 TOPPS TURKEY RED (SET 1): 28 - Ryan Zimmerman
2013 TOPPS TURKEY RED (SET 2): 11, 16, 23, 28, 30, 34, 43, 44, 51, 54, 61, 77, 87, 92, 95, and 100
I wouldn't also mind picking up another one of the 3 Rangers: 48 - Beltre, 62 - Kinsler, or 73 - Darvish
Here's what I have:
2013 Topps Turkey Red Dupes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 x2, 9, 10 x2, 12, 13, 14 x2, 15, 18, 19 x4, 24 x2, 25, 26 x4, 33 x2 ,37 x2, 41, 42, 45 x2, 46, 47 x2, 49 x2, 50, 52, 53, 57 x2, 58, 59, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68 x2, 71 x3, 72, 74, 75, 76, 78, 79, 80 x2, 81, 82 x2, 85, 86, 88 x2, 90 x2, 94, 96, 97, and 98
Autos:
Tyler Skaggs - Diamondbacks (Brown Border) #ed 9/10
Alcides Escobar - Royals #ed 20/20
Jeff Niemann - Rays #ed to 48 x2
Jerry Sands - Red Sox #ed 110/139
Drew Hutchinson - Blue Jays #ed to 389 x3
Andrew Carignan - A's #ed 620 x2
Mike Fiers - Brewers #ed to 689 x2
Scott Diamond - Twins #ed to 689 x4
Steve Cishek - Marlins #ed to 689 x5
Chris Archer - Rays #ed to 689 x5
Printing Plate: Yonder Alonzo - Padres (Magenta) #ed 1/1
What I want to do with the rest is try and make some money back (what I don't trade). In you guys opinions what would be the best thing to do with my extras which will be my triplicates. Sell individually? Make team sets? Sell the autos individually? Any strategy there? $.99 cent 7 day auctions and let 'em ride? BINs? Thanks in advance for any opinions, cards, and trades ahead of time.
What I'm selling
Building Sets, Collecting Texas Rangers, and Texas Tech Red Raiders
Matt I would take what you have left over after trades and do like you said. Seven day .99 auction. There are going to be alot of people trying to put this set together. If 27 boxes wont make a set I doubt 30 will. Secondary market will be nice to these cards.
