Any year, another birthday, another coin idea (IHCs)
So, as my son turns a big 11, I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what to do for a coin giveaway, as I have done yearly since he was 5, for his party.
This year, it will be a combo party (him and 2 of his good friends who both have birthdays near his).
In the past, I have self-slabbed anything from Lincolns to SHQs to Native American (aka Sacajawea) dollars. Last year, they did, in class, "The Oregon Trail", and learned things about the US History. This year, they are doing more things and learning about US History still. They have a "Time for Kids" magazine and one of the latest issues covered the desire to get rid of the cent. He was quizzing ME and asking if I knew the year of the first Lincoln and if I knew where they were minted, as well as about the 1943 steel penny history. Heh. Was cool.
So, I got to thinking......maybe something cent related. Steel cents...maybe, but they get ugly in lower grade and I didn't want to do reprocessed (did that one year for some of his friends, but I really didn't like the coins). Hmmm....maybe nicer, lower grade though, IHCs.
Thoughts? Think some 5th graders may like them? Less likely to spend them than SHQs and dollar coins, I think.
Thoughts on where to get the best price on a batch of them (say, a roll or a little less than a roll) and still have nicer looking ones and not ugly cuds?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
